 Client Description: 

The DEGREES Initiative is an NGO focused on ensuring the Global South is at the centre of conversations around Solar Radiation Modification (SRM). It is a proposal to reduce some climate change impacts.

Problem:

The DEGREES Initiative is a relatively new organisation. It has grown with a focus on the organisation’s purpose. The DEGREES Initiative identified that it did not have the financial structure and governance to match the organisation’s needs and ambition. 

Solution:

To improve The Degrees Initiative’s financial processes, Stuart Davis Consulting moved DI onto a more suitable accounting package whilst amending the payroll process New debit cards were also sourced and set up. The team at Stuart Davis Consulting also supported the move away from the restrictions of their previous banking service, whilst setting up new GBP and USD bank accounts. To improve reporting, SDC streamlined the Chart of Accounts. They built new Management Accounts and supported the budget process.

Result:

SDC is now The Degrees Initiatives’ outsourced finance department, and as such we manage financial processing and payroll. We also run monthly management accounts and support the annual audit.
